Electric Guitars — December '08

14" Jazz series
As a response to feedback from jazz players (the only kind of feedback we ever get), this line of guitars has several features designed to maximize archtop-like tone and response, and feel more familiar for guitarists used to wider instruments.

These guitars are heavily chambered, making them lightweight, lively, and responsive. The dual soundholes are a nod to the classic archtop tradition, and allow for a seamless back surface with no cover plates.

Available in Steel-string (with HB pickup) and Nylon (with piezo) models, these guitars can meet the needs of almost any jazz player who is seeking a, superbly playable guitar with great depth and tonal complexity, without the cost, fragility, and feedback of a full-size archtop.

Swift series
After years of making piezo-powered and 'hybrid' guitars, we have finally come around - the Swift series of guitars brings all of our experience with alternate tunings, different scale lengths, and innovative construction to a fully-electric platform.

These guitars have the radiused top and single-bolt neck joint that grace many of our piezo models, paired with a no-nonsense and highly flexible electronics package that immediately feels familiar to every electric guitarist. The full range of Baritone and Gryphon offerings are available in this line, making the signature Veillette sounds available to the fully-electric audience.

The signature Veillette neck joint, zero fret, and TonePros bridges and hardware give these guitars tremendous sustain and totally adjustable action and intonation. These are available with figured tops, and with or without chambers and soundholes.

Alpha "P" and "M" series
Our newest line, the Alpha series instruments represent our efforts to develop a line of more affordable instruments, without compromising quality. These instruments are handmade, in the same shop, by the same people, as all Veillette instruments. With mahogany bodies and necks, US-made Duncan pickups, and TonePros hardware, these are definitely still high-end guitars. The Alpha "P" guitars combine a metal stop tailpiece with the wooden bridge and D-Tar piezo from our Journeyman line. The plugged-in tone sounds just like a fine acoustic, and the guitar is slim, solid, and essentially feedback-proof.

The Alpha "M" guitars, like our new Swift line, are designed for the electric guitarist. Dual humbucking pickups and mahogany bodies and necks are a classic recipe for tone. Many different pickup options are possible.

By using a satin finish and avoiding fancy figured tops and other 'frills', we can offer these outstanding guitars at a price more working musicians can afford.

Our Alpha guitars are a breakthrough for us - available in all the tuning ranges and string combinations (including the ever-popular Gryphon), they make it easier than ever to enjoy the experience of playing a Veillette.

Adjustable Height Nylon Bridge
It may look small to some, but details like this mean a lot to us. As we constantly refine our models and features, our guitars just get better and better.

The latest is our adjustable-height nylon-string bridge. This all-wooden combination bridge/tie block is fully adjustable by the player, using the same 4mm or 5/32" hex wrench that adjusts the truss rod and neck bolt. The first round of nylons we built with this new bridge sounded and played better than ever, and the adjustability makes setup and fine tweaking of action simple and easy.

Though it's a small piece of wood, it's this kind of detail that sets our instruments apart from the crowd.
