It's been a busy year here at Veillette Guitars, and many great things have been happening. Our new models have generated a lot of buzz and excitement and we have welcomed new players, new dealers, and even a new face here at the shop. Of course, we want to thank all the members of the extended Veillette Guitar family for their interest and support.

Our customers are some of the most discerning and talented musicians there are, and this is something that we never fail to appreciate. So, this year we're trying something new with the website. In the past, only our dealers, suppliers, and occasional shop visitors would get an 'inside' glimpse into our new designs and models, upcoming news, specials on certain instruments, and the R&D that are constantly going on here. We're hoping that these pages will show everyone what we're excited about as we head into the New Year.

NAMM '09
If you're coming to the Winter NAMM show in January, please come by Booth 5280, where we'll be showing off our latest goodies. And if you can't make it to the NAMM show, remember that we're always here to answer your questions and help you design your dream guitar. - call us or send us an e-mail.

"Specials"
Our website now features a "Specials" page, which showcases prototypes, demos, and even unfinished instruments. These guitars are all 100% playable, functional, and great-sounding. We're making these available at discounted pricing, so they can be out in the world making music.

Our Staff
We're now up to 4 people here at Veillette Guitars.

Chris, Joe, AndE, Martin
We're lucky to have taken on the services of Chris Rand concentrating on set-ups, electronics and other final -type work on the new pieces, aside from also doing everything else in the shop (as we all do). Chris comes to us with prior experience at Modulus Guitars and Hamer, and he is a graduate of the Roberto-Venn lutherie program. Chris also enjoys surfing, notwithstanding his recent move to the Catskill Mountains.

AndE Chase has pretty well found his niche as Production Manager, almost singlehandedly taking large pieces of trees and turning them into things that look like musical instruments.

Martin Keith has become the utility man, doing a little bit of everything, but especially good at problem-solving, correspondence, and where to find things both inside and outside the shop. He just knows stuff.

And Joe Veillette is still hard at work designing new instruments (and the fixtures to make them), and refining the details and ideas that make Veillette Guitars unique and special.

Some notable artists have new Veillettes this year
Neal Schon with his new Gryphon
Neal Schon got his 3rd and 4th pieces from us, both Journeyman Gryphons which he's been spotlighting in the recent Journey shows.

David Torn has been getting a lot of use lately from his new acoustic Gryphon on his recent soundtrack work.

Colin Hay has also been seen at his solo gigs featuring his new acoustic Gryphon.

Some other terrific players who recently came on board with Journeyman 12-strings and Gryphons are Jimmy Dillon (Springsteen, John Lee Hooker, and more) , Dan Warner (Madonna, Chris Cornell, and more) and Terry Woods of the Pogues.

We've added some cool new dealers this year

Strings - Coming Soon!
For a company that offers so many different tuning ranges and scale lengths, it's only natural that we would eventually start offering a line of custom strings designed for all of our alternate tuning ranges.

In 2009, Veillette Strings will be rolling out with a range of custom gauges to match our best-selling alternate tuning configurations, including acoustic and electric Gryphons, Baritone 6-strings and 12-strings, and Baritone Nylon strings. This line will likely expand to include more conventional strings designed to our spec, reflecting our long experience with scale lengths and gauge selection. It will be easier than ever to get new strings for all of our custom and 'off-the-wall' models.
