Jazz Archtop Semi-hollow
Electric 6 and 12-string
Featuring semi-hollow construction, 25" scale, wenge/ebony bridge and dovetail trapeze-style tailpiece, the Jazz Archtop is designed to deliver the "plugged" tone of a fine archtop guitar, without the feedback and fragility. The single neck pickup is placed ideally for a thick, fat sound with great note definition. The top is carved Sitka Spruce, with black binding. The standard Veillette features like the zero-fret and the incredibly strong machine bolt/tee nut neck joint combine with a broad range of available pickups.
The Jazz Archtop is available in two sizes - the 14" wide "Jazz 14"
and the 12.5" wide "Compact".
Inspired by Cuban/jazz artist Ben Lapidus, our original Compact design received great reviews and has been very popular with many straight-ahead jazz players looking for great tone and no feedback.
The newer 14" guitar has a 21-fret neck and more extensive body chambering, and is a step closer to a full-size archtop, but with the same feedback resistance and rugged construction of all Veillette instruments.
Between the two models, our Jazz Archtop will fill almost any jazz guitarist's needs, in a gig-friendly platform that sounds and feels great.
